Is God Relevant?
God is relevant to me; Is he relevant to you? To put the question in other ways: Is there anything that you are dependent on God for? Is there anything that God, and only God, can do for you?
Are we totally dependant on God for anything?
The Bible records Paul preaching, 'The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all life and breath and everything else.' (Acts 17:24,25)
'This is what God the Lord says - He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: ...' (Isaiah 42:5)

It is clear that as God's creation we are dependent on our creator for life. God gives us the breath in our lungs. It is in His power to lengthen or shorten our lives. Why Does God care about us? It's because he loves us.

What about our environment? What about the great expanse of space in which the earth rotates and moves? The Bible says that God maintains everything in its order: '... sustaining all things by his powerful word.' (Hebrews 1:3)

Just as God cares for his creation, so he cares for you. God responds to the needs of people, knowing their needs even before they realize them. God is mighty, rational, consistent, understanding, caring and personal. There is no problem too large or too small for God. Nothing takes God by surprise.

We are dependant upon a dependable God.
Is there anything that God and only God can do for you?
As the great creator, God knows what is best for us. He made us in a certain way, and we won't find satisfaction unless we follow that way.

Everyone has problems. It would be stupid for anyone to say they never had problems. God can sort out these problems for you, or give you the strength to go through the problems. God promises to be with those who trust in Him.

Have you ever thought that nobody cares, that there is no one you can talk to about your problems and concerns? God cares. God understands the problems that people have and he cares for us. Even if we have made a mess of our lives, and you don't know which way to turn. You can always call out to God - it is called prayer - and God will hear and respond if you are really serious.

Do you have money worries, personal relationship difficulties, a drug habit, a gambling addiction, or some other problem that has control of you. Let Jesus take control of your life. Jesus changes lives; he can change yours.

The Bible says that you have a problem that you can't deal with yourself. It's a huge problem, and one that affects every part of your life. It's called sin. All of the other problems in our lives can be traced back to this one great problem - sin. No matter how hard we might try, there is no way we can get rid of it. But God can. God's love for sinners (you) was so great that he sent his Son Jesus to die for you, and to break sin's grip on your life.
The Bible says:
> 'The Son of God loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
> 'But God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us.' (Romans 5:8).
> 'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.' (John 3:16)
> '... just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a good life. ... For we know that our old self was cruciified with him, so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should be no longer slaves to sin - because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.' (Romans 6:4,6)
> Jesus said, 'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.' (Matthew 11:28)
Only God can rescue us from the penalty and grip of sin, and only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us. We are dependent on a loving and forgiving God for salvation.

We suggest that you continue to read your Bible, and pray that God will give you an open and understanding mind. Please contact us if you have any questions, wish to discuss anything, or make use of any resources that we may have.
