Which God?
There are many gods. Some religious cultures have hundreds or even thousands of gods. There are gods of the rivers, the trees, the hills, mountain passes. There would appear to be a god for everything. In some cases, these gods get angry for unknown or trivial reasons. Some religions cultures have only one god, but even then, one person's god may be different to another person's god!

The Bible talks about many gods. There are references to the gods of the various nations that lived during the time when the Bible was written. To the readers of the Bible, however, the instruction is given, 'Have nothing to do with these gods and idols'. This is because the Bible makes a majestic claim: The Bible is the self-revelation of the one and only true God. All the other gods are false.
The Bible tells us about this eternal God who initially made everything, by bring the things that we see out of nothing. He is the master designer, creator, and sustainer of the great universe. As the creator, he is the one that we must worship and obey, and it is to him that we must give an account of all we do.
.
The Bible reveals God as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Not as three Gods, but as one God who presents himself as three 'persons'. God is revealed not only as a great and holy God, but as one who loves people and wants to rescue them from the consequences of sin.
