Who is Jesus?
There have been many people with the name Jesus, but there is one special man who was given that name. He is the Jesus of the Bible. The fact that he existed and that he was a real man is almost unquestioned. However, many question the claims made in the Bible that Jesus was also the Son of God. He was God and man in one person. You must consider this claim.

If Jesus was not the Son of God, then Christianity is false. It is dead. None of its claims have any relevance apart from being good advice. The whole of the Christian faith is based on the fact that Jesus is the Son of God. If Jesus is not who he said he was, or if he did not do what he came to do, or if he is dead, then Christianity has nothing to offer you. In one of the New Testament writings, Paul said that if Jesus Christ was not raised from the dead, then Christians are miserable, deceived people.

However, if Jesus is who he said he was, and if he did what he came to do, then Jesus and the Bible are both very relevant to us. His coming, life, teachings, and death to save sinners are of great relevance. The Bible claims that Jesus came to rescue sinners from deserved judgement, that he died for sinners, and that he rose from the dead. The Bible also states that it is only through Jesus that sinners can have true life. Our attitude to Jesus, and our relationship with him, impacts both our lives and our destinies. Our relationship to Jesus determines our destiny, and our participation in the kingdom of God.

This short story is about the life of that man. It is no ordinary story. He was no ordinary man. Who is he? Even Jesus' followers had the same question. At one time, they said to each other, 'Who is he? Even the wind and the sea obey him!'

Claims about Jesus:
The Bible makes some great claims about Jesus: he was born of a virgin; he was a king; he was born to rescue people; he was protected in a special way by angels; he brought hope to the world, and many other claims. If these claims are true, then Jesus should have a significant impact on our attitude to God, to Jesus and to people, on our conduct, and our destiny. The claims are obviously about a person who was no ordinary man. These claims affect both you and me...

The Death of Jesus:
Jesus' death was an event that had, and has, a universal impact. One of the amazing things mentioned in the Bible is that Jesus did not die because of his own disobedience, but for ours! He took our place before God and paid a great debt we owed to God. As a result, God is willing and able to forgive our sins and accept us as one of his people. The Bible teaches that you can have this forgiveness through repentance and faith in Jesus....

The Resurrection of Jesus:
If Jesus died and remained dead, the Christian message would be ambiguous and pointless. But this was not the case. Jesus rose from the dead by God's power, thus showing that God was pleased with what Jesus had done by his death. Jesus is who he said he was, and he has done what he came to do. His claims are validated. His claims are therefore to be accepted, and you are required to respond...
